Hive is straightforward and well-priced. Nest learns your routine and adjusts automatically. Tado is strong on room-by-room control and geofencing, so the heating knows when you've left the house. There's no single best, only the best for your home and habits.
Do they actually save money?
Yes, when they stop you heating rooms and hours you don't need to. The savings depend on how you live, but for most homes the payback comes within a couple of heating seasons.
