Old houses, listed buildings and where the flue can go
Winchester is a harder place to fit a boiler than almost anywhere else we work, and it’s worth saying so plainly. Large parts of the city sit inside conservation areas and a great many properties are listed, which puts real constraints on where a flue can terminate and what external pipework is acceptable on a visible elevation. Get that wrong and you’ve got a problem costing a great deal more than the boiler.

Larger period houses with several bathrooms usually want a system boiler and a properly specified unvented cylinder rather than a combi.
