How often should you service your boiler?
The short answer is once a year, but here's why it matters for safety, your bills and your warranty, and what actually happens during a service.
It's the job that's easy to forget until something goes wrong. An annual boiler service is quick, inexpensive, and quietly does three important things: it keeps your home safe, keeps the boiler efficient, and keeps your manufacturer's warranty valid.
Once a year, every year
Almost every boiler manufacturer asks for an annual service to keep the warranty valid, and skipping it is one of the most common reasons a warranty claim gets refused. Even out of warranty, a serviced boiler burns less gas and is far less likely to break down in the middle of winter.
What actually happens during a service
We check the burner and heat exchanger, run a flue gas analysis, inspect the seals and flue, check gas pressure and the controls, and give everything a clean. You get a written report on anything that needs attention before it turns into a bigger job.
The cheapest time to book
Late summer and early autumn are ideal, before the first cold snap loads up every engineer's diary. If you're a landlord, we can do the service and your CP12 gas safety certificate in the same visit for a reduced combined price.
